Do you over or under exaggerate

I tend to over exaggerate, especially when I'm stressed out.

    Clumsiness

I know I'm clumsy. I've walked into doorways, bumped my head on the freezer door and my car door when getting in, and tripped over my own feet. I still have a knot on my head from when I hit my head on the freezer door just last night. My handwriting sucks, too. My drawing is okay, though. These...

    Aspies and Facebook

Not an autism thing. Just your own personal interests because there are tons of autistics on Facebook, including myself. There are whole autism groups on Facebook I've joined.

    Poll: Do you laugh inappropriately

When something bad is happening to a character in a movie that I know is gonna happen. I feel so evil for that.. Maybe it's just an "I knew it" moment as to why I grin or laugh?

    Reading paper vs the screen

I prefer screens because it gives light, you can zoom in as I have trouble reading tiny words, and I don't have to worry about paged being messed up. Plus, I like the colorful words and lights. Dark mode is awesome! I havey phone in dark mode right now!

People deliberately trying to trigger your disability

When I was in school, people would trigger my sensory overload by making loud noises or screaming near my ears (they would get nearly punched).

    What are you autism quirks?

I prefer wearing a T-shirt and sporty shorts. They're the most comfortable clothes. No itchy jeans or tight tinman shirts!

Do you say "uh" a lot?

I have this problem as well. I ties into he communication and language processing impairments that come with being autistic. I'm stuck saying "um" and "like" all the time. I get caught off-guard with questions all the time, especially when I'm working. Verbal communication and processing...

Issues With Shoes: Sensory or Something Else?

Ever since I was little, I couldn't walk in shoes and step on something sticky, papery, or nasty. I can feel it through layers of shoe, and I shudder. Without shoes, things are more tolerable. I don't know what it is about feeling it through shoes makes me uncomfortable, but it does. I can step...

    Looking at the ground

Due to sensory issues with shoes, I tend to make sure I'm not stepping on anything sticky, papery, or too nasty-looking.

Worst thing a teacher has said to you?

My fifth grade teacher said "I'm gonna bust you in the lip". Just because I was drawing and reading at the same time when we were supposed to be reading. I waited two weeks to even tell someone cause I didn't know he wasn't supposed to say that to a child. All I knew is that I felt humiliated...
