    I don't think I have processing time issues for information, but I do actively exclude things I don't want to focus on by switching them off etc. My husband says what kills him is context switching - constant interrupting one thing to do another and then back again - AKA "multitasking".

    When I'm reading, I sometimes have to move distracting objects out of my field of view. For instance, when I'm reading on the bed I can't leave a bookmark on the coverlet because it sticks out too much. In a less homogeneous visual environment that's already "busy" I don't have the urge to move anything.
