Big ice storm last night. Not as bad as last year (lost power for 2 weeks, that time), still have power, but about half of Alpena is without power.

Drove into town - trees across roads, several with powerlines tangled in them. Found a gas station with power, and had to wait in line for 20 minutes.

I'm cut to the heart. I am so exhausted. Every illness maybe is because I love him so much. Every time he's sick, I get terribly ill. Poor kid. Never had a chance. You wouldn't understand unless you were there.

I just listened to every goal horn in the NHL for '26 and this one came out top for me, pretty sick!

Friends, husband and I went for a 5 mile hike, played street hockey at the park, now driving around aimlessly looking for a place to eat dinner, going to watch a hockey game on TV tonight.
These are some of the best days. Spending the whole day outside, fooling around with my friends, acting like kids.
Life is too short to grow up.

It's not actually called the "Consolation Cup," that's just what everyone has been referring to it as because it's like winning a prize at the arcade when the games are made for five-year-olds. In our league, being even slightly better than all the other teams will almost guarantee you the championship, lol

I suppose it depends on one's point of view. It could be quite the consolation to absorb a hit to one's groin and get to keep their jewels. All because of wearing that "cup". A case of "low-sticking" with a potentially greater penalty involved. :p

I love living in a rural area. Despite it being quiet and sometimes boring, it’s peaceful and the scenery is beautiful.
