Gangsters

I'm from a very small town (about population 350) so honestly I've never encountered a true gangster. But what I have seen is the people who think they are gangsters. This pisses me off. So much. Not because they're "posers" but because no one ever stops and wonders WHY you would DESIRE to be a gangster? True gangs are formed for a method of protection, survival, and ensuring you'll make it to tomorrow (or at least thats the root plan). They arent fun. They arent a way of acting tough. Its a difficult lifestyle. Hip-hop and rap have glamorized and glorified gangsters to the mainstream which is perpetuating violence even when its unnecessary.

Street gangs are not formed to be cool. Theyre formed out of necessity.

gangsters choose to be gangsters because they're bastards and losers at heart. they're horrible people. they dont have to be gangsters if they dont want to and they can survive just fine without being gangsters. i used to work in mcdonalds and burger kings etc in chicago and they're full of gangsters and they pick on women who live alone and have no one to protect them. they dont do it for survival but simply out of sadism. they picked on me and threatened me when i came home late from work and they circled me with my back to the wall, and i pulled out a knife i carried in my pocket for just this kind of situation and touched it to a gangster's throat. the left me alone, because they're cowards, too.
they didnt pick on me out of desperation. what would happen to them if they didnt pick on me? what can they gain by picking on me? they're psychopaths. that's all. they enjoy violence. and i heard on the news, over and over again, how they torture, sometimes murder, their own children, toddlers and babies.
you think they're gangsters just to survive. that's because being from a small town, you've never really met one. you dont know what they're really like.
you're right, people shouldnt try to look/dress/talk like gangsters. the teens think they're so cool when they do it. i've seen that in poverty neighborhoods, especially. it's the fashion.
that's not to say everyone from a slum acts like a gangster. or that each and every person working in a fast food business in a big city is one. because some of the mcdonalds workers werent gangsters and they were real nice.

Biker gangs and street gangs are originally made to get some living money and to have a form of protection from other gangs, but yeah, after some time they all turn curropt and into sadistic and violent war-machines. I agree 100%, but people need to realize that citizens in lower class neighborhoods need help, not punishment.

I'm beginning to notice how overprotective and sugar-coated the world is today, or at least it...
