What are your favorite movie musicals?

Little Shop of Horror comes to mind, though seeing it live is much better.

The Music Man is pretty good.

And of course Little Shop of Horrors, 1986 version with Steve Martin :D

I love the Sound of Music and Phantom of the Opera. I've seen both shows live as well, Phantom is amazing both ways. Sound of Music is much better as a film adaptation, and Julie Andrews has always been a favourite of mine. My Fair Lady, as well.

My Fair Lady
Kiss Me Kate
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Mary Poppins

And eagerly waiting for the Wicked musical movie..

Sweeny Todd is No. 1 with me, then there is Into the Woods, and perhaps South Pacific (my favorite song; You've Got to Be Carefully Taught - Contrast that with; Children Will Listen.)

Anything with Doris Day
Singing in the Rain
Most Disney Cartoon musicals
Most Disney live-action musicals
The Producers
South Pacific
Cabaret
Sweeney Todd
West Side Story
The King and I
Les Misérables
Pitch Perfect
Hairspray
The Pirates of Penzance
Phantom of the Opera
Into the Woods

And the list goes on. I love musicals. Used to sing in them when I was in high school over summer break.

My all time favourites are Grease, Sound of music, Xanadu, Wizard of Oz and Singing in the rain
Honourable mentions are Annie, My fair lady, Mary Poppins and I like fame as well.
My favourite Disney ones are The little mermaid and beauty and the beast.
I like the soundtracks of Oliver but watching it is really sad and violent to me how he kills her, Carousel but it is too extremely sad to watch at times and west side story has great music but is too sappy for me.

I have played the Tin Man in The Wizard Of Oz complete with singing parts, at age 10. We toured our school district in southern California.
The following year, I played the king/father of the princess in a musical version of The Frog Prince.

"I could have been a contender...!"

Suck
Anna And The Apocalypse.

These are all horror movies, too.
