Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Consumer Advisory

Regarding the acquisition of pre-owned Samsung Galaxy flagship devices, a consumer advisory is in effect.

Specifically, the Galaxy S22 Ultra model from 2022 presents a higher incidence of hardware failure compared to other recent Samsung flagship models. Reported issues include, but are not limited to, modem and USB-C port malfunctions. So I would avoid this model if you are looking to buy a used or refurbished phone. Luckily I skipped this model; I went from the S21+, to the S23 Ultra, and now the S25 Ultra.

I'm still using Galaxy J2 running Android 8. I love it because it's too old to run most apps and it can't be used for banking and tap to pay, it's probably too old to run most malware too. It's just a phone.

S23 Ultra here.

Heck if I even know what the differences are between other Ultra models. As it is, this is my first Android phone.

Sometimes I wonder if what they're REALLY selling is just a bigger model number for bragging rights or something. Like with the iPhone. Holy flippin' heck it's an iPhone !!8!! instead of a mere, sad little 7. It's got two extra pixels, not much else changed. Dont focus on that though, you have an 8 and your friends dont, that's what matters...

Or at least that's how I tend to feel about these things.

I mean heck, it always seems like most users ignore like 99% of what these things can do.
