Psychiatrist appointment!

Hi.

Yesterday (after about 5 years of wondering what the hell is wrong with me), I have been referred to a psychiatrist for diagnosis. I heard it can take 8-12 weeks to get an appointment . But how long does the letter take to come usually? For my depression one it was only about two weeks but that was with CAMHs and I don't think the waiting list is that long for that place.

I don't want to have to wait another 3 months :( It's so frustrating.

i am under the CAMHS team and they tend to vary in the time it takes to send letters lol bloody irritating i know ! but if it takes longer than 2 weeks i should phone up and remind them lol :P

Thanks for the reply.

I won't be seeing CAMHs because i'm over 18 now anyway. I just wondered whether if they say the waiting list is 8-12 weeks, I will get the letter in 8-12 weeks or an actual appointment! It's too long :( <_<
