Hi glad i found this place and hopefully someone can relate to me :) I always had trouble fitting in in schools and my mother just said i needed to toughen up and be more outgoing this was when i was age roughly 6-14 now im 33 after thinking i had depression and anxiety all my life the doctor recently informally diagnosed me with aspergers, just yesterday my 8 year old son has been diagnosed with the exact same thing in school. I,m just a bit confused and angry about going through all these years thinking i was the same as all the others and wondering why i wasnt accepted, im also really worried how my son is going to cope in secondary school after hes complained of being called names in Primary school thanks GZ

Hi there! Welcome! Hi hi hi!

:wavespin:

I can relate to you quite a bit, I think. I went through some truly awful bouts of depression and anxiety, from my mid-teens all the way up through my mid-twenties. Ironic thing is, I did not even learn until a couple of years ago, when I was in a psych ward, that I had been diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 16! What! I mean...would that not have, I do not know, HELPED me at all?

There are many Aspie parents here with kids on the spectrum, so feel free to ask whatever you like.
