It's a GREAT time to be alive

I was inspired by a speech I heard last night about all the great things happening in the world and wanted to share.

Here's what I've witnessed in the past year:

Women's rights are being restored
Children are being protected from schools and doctors that seek to harm them
Criminals are being held accountable for their crimes
Rampant fraud, covered up by racists due to the skin color of the fraudsters, is being exposed and eliminated
Murder rate has plunged to a 125 year low after the rule of law was enforced against violent criminal trespassers
Science is triumphing over ideology
Love is winning against hate

Note: This post is about sharing good news. Please don't make it political.

There's also a marked lack of H Bombs currently falling.

We haven't experienced a second Carrington Event.

No stars have gone nova close enough to fry us with gamma radiation.

The Yellowstone super volcano has not erupted.

So yeah, things could be MUCH worse, and it's a good time to be alive.

People are proving that they are decent despite the worst estimations--they are putting themselves in front of pepper spray and tear gas, putting their bodies and their minds on the line to push back against what's happening, old people pushed on the ground, young people risking their futures to protest, putting their very lives on the line, sleeping out in the elements at 10 below, standing on basically the firing lines to say no, and at points giving it all up in order to get the message across. As shameful as my culture is, people do step up in ways that genuinely restore my belief in human history past and present.

It's always good to be grateful that bad things aren't happening where you live. Thanks for sharing!

That all sounds honorable if they're protesting some great evil. Thankfully, nothing like that is happening in my country but I've about heard the situation you've described in Cuba so perhaps that's where you're writing from. If that's the case, I hope you can get to a free country nearby (if you desire it) where you'll be welcomed and granted asylum.

I’m massively enjoying my rabbit hole of playing my different basses. The look, the feel, the weight. the feel of the thick strings on my fingers. Then there is the sound. Great time to be alive. I have time for music
