It’s 2025 and I already have a fear of being evicted

Want to make this kind of short as I’m already kind of stressed and worried. It’s January 2nd and fixing to be January 3rd which means my apartment rent is due (I have until the 4th and if no payment I have late fees that will be applied) I could pay it but the problem is I literally have no income because guess what I still have no job as of yet. My only saving grace i have is financial aid money consisting of grants and scholarships that I’m expecting to come in and will help a great with rent and bills but my aid won’t be hitting my bank account between 10th-13th due to a delay of receiving financial aid.

I’ve lived at my same apartment complex for 5-6 years when I first started college and I have never been late on a rent payment at all as I either pay it a day early or the day of when it’s due and I’ve had a few jobs that have helped me out like normal in terms of living standards. I am really good with managing my money even on a tight budget but only have $100 left is not working out along with using SNAP food benefits.

I feel this is a werid thing to post and maybe the wrong section to post in but I wanted to see if I could get some help in terms of what direction I should go from here since this is my first time experiencing a crisis like this. I plan on contacting apartment management during the day Friday to work some things out and that is my first step to do.
I like to hear if anyone has been in a little bit of a similar situation especially those in the U.S.

I hope you will be able to get a job soon and everything will work out ok about your rent.

Perhaps the most prudent thing to do under the circumstances would be to find out all the legal aspects of your state's laws pertaining to the grace period of late rent fees.

That how much time you actually have and what funds are available to you under the most dire circumstances may be the most critical aspect of your situation. Above all, to go thoroughly go over your lease terms to see if there is something that might work to your advantage. Being a long-term tenant paying rent on time may also give you some leeway, depending on your landlord.

Keep in mind the link below is a generic explanation of such circumstances rather than one pertaining to the state you reside in:

Sometimes, people will bend the rules if approached in a friendly way. Good luck.

I have talked with apartment management as of Friday and they are giving me until the 15th to pay my rent which is more time than I need but I will have a late fee applied which is 10% of my rent.
I should also be getting my financial aid for school on the 13th which is more than enough to help me out for the short term
