Issue with "Rate and Comment on Media" Function

Is anyone else having a problem commenting on media they've rated?

I can't get text to show up unless I select it. By default, I see this:

The red underscore is the only giveaway that I've typed characters.
 
Yer, I've had exactly the same problem. The text is there, and will show up once posted, but isn't visable whilst typing.
 
I can Comment OK.
No problem with that.

What I don't understand though is why the
same pictures keep showing up as new.

I mark them as Viewed.
The Alert goes away.

Same day, next day, whenever....the same
photo appears as new.

What's up with that?
