I had no idea, maybe l suspected as much.....

Don't defy or upset self important forum members or you may get a scolding!
To boil it down to the what it means, completely! And it doesn't even matter what the group is based on. Even ND's and their common cause related to social navigation, still will exhibit negative (as perceived by the observer) behaviours as part of the group zeitgeist (lovely word, been waiting ages to use it! 😂 Although 'gruppegeist' would be closer) and need for the group to maintain structure.
e.g. we may not like the mods attitudes on any particular site/forum, but without the mods the site wouldn't be what it is (for better or worse).
"Better to have a bad king than no king..." as the saying goes.

A partial answer, from the middle of your post:

* A's like chaos. They create it for it own sake. They're the ones who like to watch the world burn (real world or a forum - they don't distinguish).
* B's create chaos, but then complain about everyone else they drew into it. They're "right", so they take no responsibility for any side-effects of the way they share the "truth".
* C's are neutral. If they create pointless chaos for fun they're A's, not C's. C's won't burn the real world. But they'll go after A's and B's sometimes.

The "Dark Triad" really do like chaos. Most people greatly underestimate the proportion of all RL social problems, large and small, that they cause. And their numbers (as a proportion of the total population) are growing.
To be honest I find it hard to discriminate between A and C here.
It seems to suggest A's do what they do for the pleasure of the chaos it may cause?
But if so, then isn't that pretty much what C's are doing?
I don't think the B's tend to create chaos so much as allow themselves (or allowed to be) mislead by A's and C's?

Some people will 'create' chaos not because that's what they seek, but because they can't tolerate another viewpoint or understanding. Then the equal inability to accept another's viewpoint will lead other groups into the conflict that causes the perceived chaos.

And to get down to the gritty bits, what is chaos defined as? Chaos is simply complexity beyond evaluation and predictability. Is that really what some group or person may seek, or is it partly just the result or symptom of what they do?

How do B's create chaos? What is the nature of that chaos. Why do they do whatever it is that may cause that chaos? Do they actively seek that chaos or is it just due to something else?

Believing in what's always been shown to be correct or to work is evolved behaviour. If B's didn't stick to their guns when it comes to new ideas, we wouldn't be the creatures we are and be in the state we are in. Old ideas are those that have always had the most beneficial results, hence evolution favours those that stick to tried and tested methods. New ideas are treated with natural caution unless or until the advantages become obvious or the weight of change forces a re-evaluation of those ideas.

If C's "go after" As and B's how can they be neutral? I'd say they have more defined reasons, which would lift them out of neutrality, otherwise they would no longer have their own interests at heart and would diminish and likely disappear because of that. Evolutionary success (survival) is predicated on self interest, not neutrality.
