how do we explain aspergers to a non aspergian?

Though recently I really struggled to explain to someone,

She said what's aspergers?

Me: It's like high functioning autism

Her:What's that?

Me: You know Autism ? but much more able to communicate

Her: What's Autism?

Me: .....I'm Special

Interesting you should say that... I had the exact same conversation with my brother two days ago, except I didn't say "I'm special"... I just looked at him -

I would find it very hard to explain it to the other person because me myself don't fully understand the whole thing of having AS.

But then for a person to want to know? Sometimes, not everyone would take it the right way, so I normally tend to hide it from the public which some of the traits ends up being discovered... :(

Its a difficult one that is...
