Welcome to the forums. This is a very open and accepting place and it offers a great deal of information and comfort.

As to learning rules, we each sort of make up our own as we go. I personally had a lot of informal ones back in my youth, which involved producing a different affect depending on the situation. As I aged, it became somewhat burdensome to keep track of things as I met and interacted with more and more people on a regular basis. This led to just being myself in all situations no matter the fallout.

I did not even know I was on the spectrum until my 40s. By then, it really made no significant difference in my life. The trick is to know yourself well enough to accept and find comfort in your differences. So, while you will find a great deal of advice and shared experiences here, a hard set of rules to fit in may be different for each person, even though we share some common ground.

Not to worry though, you are welcome here and your forum name says much. There is no shame in being on the spectrum, in fact I find it a great source of strength.

May you find your best self and prosper as a result. Feel free to make all the mistakes necessary to achieve that, for we learn through them and they are lasting lessons that are never forgotten.
