Autism meet-up

Has anyone been to an autism meet-up? What was your experience? I’m going to my first one soon and am feeling both excited and anxious, I don’t know what to expect

I only have intentionally met up with one other autistic person. We met on Reddit, and he worked at my former work place. Meeting new people is never easy for me. We both found it awkward, but overall I was glad I did it, and he said the same thing.
For me, a group meet up would be very difficult if it were more than 2 other people.

We have a local Meetup.com group here. I went to an IRL meeting this afternoon. Maybe a dozen of us there, but a very relaxed mood. Finding your neurokin can be very supportive. @Jumpinbare, I sympathise - we’re a spectrum and not everything is for all of us. Glad to hear your meeting was, on balance, a positive experience.

Went to my first autism meet-up today! It was good! I think I made a couple new friends ☺️ and my social anxiety wasn’t even that bad 🤗

Where was this? (other than Burger King?)

I had glasses like the guy does when I was his age.
