Anyone else surf?

Surfing, and the making of surfboards is my obsession. I was completely un-athletic and uncoordinated and worthless at anything physical until I found surfing. It is the only place where I feel free, winning, like a leader and as good as everyone else. Everywhere else and in every other context I feel anxious, misunderstood, not good enough, etc. etc. I am not a typical surfer, just an aspie geek who found surfing. Because of my seeming fit and outdoorsy appearance (especially if people encounter me at the beach), others are often taken aback when they first converse with me, and notice that I'm not good at it, inappropriate, awkward and anxious, weird etc. Anyway, it keeps me going.

My other interest is minor computer geeking. I'm posting from Windows, but linux is my primary OS, and has been for 12 or so years. I built this computer and many others.
