Hello,
I actually just found this site tonight, and only took a small look around before deciding to be part of the community.
I was officially diagnosed with Asperger's when I was a Sophomore in High School, according to what I remember from a conversation I had with my father once. When I was a kid, I remember hearing the word Asperger's and had assumed I had it long before the official diagnosis, but apparently it was merely a theory then.
There was another forum up until recently that I had been a member of, but unfortunately it was closed and moved to a new location, and while I did make an account at the new location I have yet to use it. There were to my surprise many others with Asperger's on this forum as well, but some of these members disappeared before the forum's closure and it became more inactive as time went on.
It was a google search tonight that led me to this forum, as I had been wondering now and then if there was a forum out there for people with Asperger's or Autism in general. As with the other forum, I am hoping to look at this one as a sort of internet home. The other forum, unlike this one, was more to do with video games, but I hope to fulfill what I was not able to do in time on the other forum and actually make some friends. I did not join the other forum in time to make any friends, and I am still sad about that, but now that I am here, maybe I can make up for that.
I do not want to make too lengthy of an intro thread, but hopefully as I post in more threads around the site, I can get to know some of you and vice versa. I already saw a few interesting threads that I will probably post in, so I will start there.
