  • Watermelons used to be hard like coconuts, and tasted bitter (I don't like watermelons on the best of days, but come on).
Bananas look very disgusting in the past compared to today (definitely couldn't make banana pudding/pie with those).

    How far in the past?
    A hundred years? Or what?

??! Australia has several species of native banana including the Lady Finger and the Sugar Banana. They're smaller than those GM Chequita things, sweeter, stronger in flavour and don't have that horrible chalky texture from being force grown. I'll take them instead of what supermarkets have to offer any time.

Natural foods don't look that disgusting. They're food.
Fruits and vegetables look really different from today (purple carrots?). Interesting.
I love turtles, but the stupendemys might be bit too big for my terrarium.

They are pretty low-maintenance, now. You can probably get by without a terrarium... 🤔

l had a little box turtle. So cute.
The fact that the quetzalcoatlus used to be flying around in North America makes me rethink how evolution works in the place.

I had to look that up to find out what it was . :) I like the theory of how they walked when on the ground, it reminds me of watching fruit bats climb around in trees. When they're climbing they look more like monkeys than bats, using their hands the same way any four limbed creature would.

Prehistoric kangaroos (Procoptodon goliah) were about two to three times bigger than regular kangaroos, but apparently were too big to hop.

I wonder if they also did the "come at me, bruh" muscle flex thing?
So, North America had lions, tigers, and bear (oh my). The Land Before Time definitely wasn't kid friendly.

The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams (I saw an episode last night, for the first time I remember ever seeing this old show)
is astonishingly benign. More gentle than a fairy tale. The one I saw, anyway.

"It was no picnic down here either:..."
That depends on who you ask...! ;)
Well, this is embarrassing. One of my mates came back from the pub, and collapsed onto my bed. Guess I'll take the couch.
Just finished my report. Nothing nicer than having your friend's cat (he's a tabby) on your lap and a mug of coffee to get the job done.
Well, somebody brought a lab rat to the lab today, and it got free, and guess what I found in my bag (at least the girls think it's cute).

I managed to make invisible fire with alcohol (and the people living with are very upset with me for doing so).

Yeah, l think that the possibility of burning down the place you live in would make anybody upset. Do you have another place lined up to live in? You need to take responsibility for your actions, and not put others in danger. otherwise you are a threat to your own safety and those around you.

Actually, they were more upset that all the alcohol was gone, not the fire. I was in my lab in another location. And I paid them back in full.
Good thing the store had some more fish oil (I heard they're good for your brain). Maybe I could do an experiment on them.

Yeah it's a good one because the body can't make it's own Omega 3. Worth taking if you're not often eating 2-3 portions of fish a week.

You don’t actually need fish oil for omega-3 - the fish get theirs from algae! 🌿 There are vegan omega-3 supplements made directly from algae that provide the same DHA and EPA without harming fish.
I had some iron dust lying around, so I put it water and began playing with it with a magnet. Doesn't work with iron supplements though.

Have you tried mixing it with something of greater viscosity, like cooking oil?

That might be interesting for comparison.
