  • I am a Dad that just found out that my son has been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. He is 32 years old and one of the best things that ever happened in my life. I adore him. I now understand that I need to relearn how I should communicate with him and need some help understanding that. Please feel free to chime in and help me. I really appreciate it!

    Hello & welcome.
There is more to be learned than can be covered in a single post. Feel free to ask specific questions.
Some here get offended at questions asked from a [non-autistic] POV, but if you can overlook that, others will answer from a shared experience.

Also, I am an Aspie father of (at least) four autistic children. You can PM me, if said contention becomes too obnoxious.

I’m an autistic adult in my late 20s and would be happy to answer questions about how to help your son :)

Autism presents itself differently in each person. "If you've met one autistic, you've met one autistic." Most people here will be happy to help you, including me. (47 year old male) Autistics are bad at communicating, it is one of the main hallmarks of autism. We can give advice, but a lot of your journey will be trial and error.
