Good going. If you want protein along with some carbs that do not raise your glycemic index, try legumes. Tonight I am making an Italian Pot Roast with Canelli beans. Lots of veggies and protein. I also threw in some honey mushrooms that I found.

That's great news. Do this regularly, you will start to see changes and have more energy.

I would recommend eating red meat, especially cow meat (beef), afterwards. Beef is packed with good proteins that will help you build muscle and recover quickly from your workouts. Some serious weight trainers will drink high protein shakes, but imo eating high protein meats is probably better.
