Not many equally tempting places to roost?

I live on a hilly prairie type environment. The soil is shallow and the trees are mostly small cottonwoods and some type of large juniper. Most of the rest of the plants are grasses/weeds and sagebrush that is called "bristlebrush" locally.

Birds like to alight on the corners of my shed and car (Kia Soul so they like the sharp corners) as well as the antenna and poop. That's what birds do. But the antenna isn't robust enough for large birds.

He may get tired of trying.
Or you could put up a perch for him.
The choice of location would be up to you, so
that would control the poop situation somewhat.

Sad, l love birds. Maybe a perch, they control your small furry pests.

I don't mind small birds-we have sparrows and such. But there are also huge vultures, long neck classic buzzards, and they usually nest in the oaks next to the river, but sometimes they come over here for food. My antenna is basically a big aluminum pipe and is too weak for buzzards.

Is that what the large bird is, a vulture?

The small birds love my Kia and my shed, and sometimes they perch on the antenna, but they are small and hurt nothing, But a buzzard will make the antenna swing wildly and it will clunk against my home. It's annoying.

Yes it is most likely a vulture. There are hawks around, but hawks hunt in the daylight and this guy has been trying all night.
