My advice is create a plan B. Attend the event and if it rains take her out for a coffee or something.

Does rain occur regularly where you are? If so then I doubt it should disrupt your plans to meet your friends. But I do understand that you might be feeling anxious about any possible thing that might interfere with your plans. But I have a feeling it will all go well for you. :)
