Apparently not in the places you frequent.

"The total population of New York is estimated to be 8.74 million with 4.19 million males (47.99%) and 4.54 million females (52.01%).
There are 351,567 more females than males in New York."

Just because there are more women in new york city does not make them single.

"NYC did fare quite well in one category: Fun and recreation, where WalletHub rated it third-best in the country (behind just Las Vegas and Orlando)"
from the link above.

The main problem this survey noted was that it's expensive to live in NYC.

It is true that there is a lot a fun things to do in NYC. The problem is that I don't want to do them alone. When I try to go to some of these places by myself I am surrounded by couples and I just can't enjoy myself.

That's unfortunate.

Story of my life. Now you know why I keep getting depressed.

What if the fun things were populated by all single people?
How would that make a difference?

I wish but everywhere I been there has been nothing but couples everywhere. Even at social gatherings where I tried to talk to women they have a partner or if they are alone they mention a boyfriend or husband. There are no single fun events anywhere in the city. I looked and gave up.

You didn't really answer the question.

The idea was to imagine a fun event where everybody was unattached.
How would that make any difference?
Tony Ramirez
Tony Ramirez
Sorry. Yes, I imagine those events all the time. I even imagine one this morning lying in bed. It does make me sad after because I just can't seem to actually find them.

OK. You can imagine an event like that.
Then what?

What effect would that have on your behavior at the event?

It would make me happy. It does in my imagination. But there is zip, nada in the city. That's the problem.
