There could be a relationship, as far as the pain.

Stomach pulling on your back is not anything I've ever heard of,
but I am no expert.

Stomach as in abdomen. It's core muscles. If you have a weak core your body can't properly support your spine,
especially if there's a weight in the front (abdominal obesity) that is throwing everything off.
