What would you do with acorns, if you had some?

Eat them, of course. Acorns are a staple food of the local Indigenous tribes. You have to cut off the hard outer shell, then mash them into a cornmeal-like paste, then boil them in water until the "tannin" (the chemical that makes them bitter) is all gone. Then dig in.

The Wintun People in the Redding area apparently held classes last fall on how to collect and prep acorns, but I didn't know about it til the Record Searchlight (local newspaper) covered it after the fact. I have directions in books, but it's not the same as seeing it in person.

I didn't figure you intended to start a forest of oak trees.

What I meant by 'what would you do with acorns' was
how specifically would you process them and then what
sort of comestible items would you produce.

I miss acorns, they were all over the ground where l grew up. Pinecone were everywhere also. Didn't know you could eat them.
