Indeed, I know that feeling very well. Always frustrates me to think that even intense social interactions that succeed beyond my wildest expectations still result in a great deal of fatigue and suspicion on my part.

In my case, it is more job related. I feel too dumb to be working and when i get praise it almost feels unreal

It might be worth pointing out just how random a workplace can be for one as to whether they are a complete success or total failure. Being in both environments helped me to understand not to so easily internalize such things. You may be in the right line of work, but simply with the wrong people. It happens, I know! ;)
