I feel like i am not as pious as i must be. My parents don't care about religion at all, but learning about and practicing my religion helps me feel peaceful

Great you will really enjoy that book ! It put some things about religion into perspective for me .

I am vaguely familiar with the monomyth and the "hero's journey" I also associate it a bit with tarot cards but that's just my brain finding connections and patterns every where.
