Can anesthesia cause brain damage? Someone suggested that... I don't feel like I'm less aware or cognitively impaired in any way, just a sudden change in outlook.

Or maybe endometriosis was the thing that was making me grumpy...

I read up on that condition. Apparently it can cause depression and anxiety disorders. With this gone could you be 'cured'?

I dont know what surgery you was done. If they removed a part of you, they removed the chemicals that part produced. Many part of us produce hormones and other chemicals. Your body needs to find balance again if that was the case.

@maycontainthunder Yes, I am technically “cured” because I no longer have reproductive organs. But I don’t think that would change my mood drastically that quickly.

@Atrapa Almas You’re definitely right, I just feel weird right now. It was a laparoscopic hysterectomy.

I wouldn't be too concerned Luca, make the most of happiness while you can, it's never very long before life throws another half brick at the back of your head. :)

It probably helps that you aren't hurting as badly as you were, right? That seems like that would be reason to be happy.

You must have been conditioned to the pain, so feeling good is weird right now. Pain can lead us to bad habits, medication, over-heating, grumpiness.

If you was removed the ovaries, you will probably need hormone therapy. If ovaries are still there you may just need time to recover. Consider that most data are from NT patients, so sensory issues and neurodivergence may make your experience and symtoms to differ. Hugs.

No you should not be concerned. I feel that way, usually when I am enjoying the outdoors and like when it spills over into other things. I will not speculate on your surgery and I hope what you are feeling is an affirmation of yourself. Your feeling that way makes me glad.

Thanks everyone :) I'm feeling a bit less loopy today but hopefully the good mood will last. Lol
@Atrapa Almas Yes, I'm going to be taking hormones. I didn't think of the fact that most of the data is from NT patients so they wouldn't know how I would react to it as a neurodivergent person, but that makes a lot of sense!

Trust me a change in hormones can make or break mental stability. Before hormones I was a happy girl, then i needed treatment to balance out my hormones and it sent me into a depression like my brain had this constant veil of dark cloud, it felt like something in my brain was suppressed.

I read up and discovered some hormones give that while some cure it. Upon switching meds i was less of a crybaby and my brain fog was miraculously lifted! Depending on the person people can react positively or negatively to different hormone therapy. And different hormones have different digestive symptoms!

There are lots of people psychologists talk about who are on hormone therapy and are struggling with depression and side effects.removing the ovaries means less female hormones. i have felt better too with more male hormones but my body wasn't feeling great at all so I needed therapy.
Wilgus, I'm interested in your notes too.
