Do you go by odometer and distance the tank is capable of?

We use the trip normally. When it gets to 200 miles it is time to fill up. It was showing 140 miles but after two years standing most of those 60 miles of fuel had evaporated. The only other time it has broken down was at home. Cause? A very common fault, oil in the distributer. So many of these got scrapped because of that fault.

I guess anything can be fixed for the right amount, but a lot aren't willing to do that. Common cars get scrapped until they're rarities. Right now my van is costing me lots in repairs :)
