I wonder if any pirates stole their boat in order to become a pirate. Advanced piracy.

I think the first lesson in pirate school is how to steal a boat. :) A good pirate should steal his boat, makes sense.

I wonder if they stole the "how to be a pirate" text book. Just steal everything. Reject cost of living increases. Become a pirate.

I misunderstood what being a pirate was... I thought it had something to do with pie rating. Mmmmm!

All pies are glorious, except one's with mushrooms in.

I remember I made paperboats like in trees video when I was kid, sailed them in small streams. :) No internet, but we had paperboats.

You can probably afford a pre-loved Optimist. But will you fit? Had to sell mine as a pre-teen because the boom would hit my head tacking no matter how low I tried to go! :)

Another idea: Crew for someone with a boat. None of the cost and you can walk away if you get fed up and take up paragliding etc.

I have heard that a boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into. The boat life is expensive.

@crewlucaa_, when I was little I had a large black poodle who loved swimming and who sailed on the Optimist with me sometimes. The Optimist is about the size of a bathtub but wider, and has one single sail. :)

It was a secondhand Optimist which I called "Snoopy" after the Peanuts dog. It got a new paint job and was good for three years for me, for pottering around a lake. :) If I sailed again, it would be on a dinghy, on a lake - in something small and simple, but not quite as small as an Optimist! Small enough to take home with you on a roof-rack. Maybe a Laser.

I'm a small but very round person so I'm not sure if I'd fit in one! Lol
Standard Poodles are one of my favorite breeds. A lot of people don't realize that they were bred for water retrieving!!
I do love sailing. If I can fit in an Optimist I will think about buying one. I also like smaller motor boats.
About how much would they cost?
