...every so often, like two weeks there and two weeks here. It won't happen, of course-I will spend most of my time there. She and I are coming from two different points of view, that much is clear. ...

She hasn't done the research I have, and she can't do things like butcher a chicken without getting physically ill. She projects that onto me. To her, everything I have done since age 18 "makes no sense". Then when I do it anyway she gaslights and says she always supported it.

How likely is it that you will be killing chickens often?

It takes a chicken five months or so to grow from hatchling to full size. Chickens lay fertile eggs in spring. So, every year at the end of summer is when culling happens. I'm not sure yet exactly how many chickens I will be butchering every year, but it will all happen during cull time in September or so.

Realistically? I don't think it will likely happen until at least February. There is a "progressive weather pattern" setting up in the PacNW, meaning that the storm door is open as locals say. That means that it will be pretty wet up there for a while. I wouldn't move until late January at the earliest, and that is probably unlikely unless a big dry spell pops up.

Sometimes I think that all of Sacramento is having a "mental health crisis". People drive aggressively, they are rude and angry all the time. My mom keeps telling me how scared she is to go out because people are so aggressive and angry. My aunt and uncle say the same thing. I'm staying inside most of the time.

February ? At 4500feet? That's like the coldest month of the year. Hornbrook gets several feet of snow, that often lingers until late April. Winter storms are common at Easter there.
