Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. I dated a lot of people expecting it to cure my depression - it didn't. In fact, dating someone doubled my worries, because not only was I worrying about my own issues, I began obsessing over theirs too.

Find happiness in yourself before you look to date. Otherwise, you'll probably drag others into your depression. Which will make your own feelings worse, and add to the guilt and shame etc.
