Office politics, apparently the atmosphere is a bit competitive. I am scared of being bullied.

I’ve only worked in an office once for a short period, and was oblivious to the politicking.
Can you check their corporate structure online?
They should have an internal person to deal with bullying if it occurs.

A lot of times, it's a clique, and the person in HR is part of it. It's a group effort to keep people out. Such is life.
