Help. I'm becoming more anxious and angry everyday

Mostly NT female offering suggestions from my experience with difficulties adjusting as well as an ex with aspergers. I've found myself in the Sat having extreme emotional and mental difficulties adjusting to people and situations that don't meet my requirements. With work, it's people who...

What's your experience of "small talk"

I'd say it's varying degrees of both. For one, I have zero interest in what someone's favorite color is or if they have 5 siblings, but I know some people love that ****. Or the dreaded "what do you do for fun?" I hate that question the most. Like, what does anyone do for fun? Fir me it's...

What's your experience of "small talk"

I'm NT and really hate small talk. I've actually wondered (not for this reason but a collection of others) if I fall on the very low, low end of the spectrum. I used to have a horrible time dating because I hate the BS conversation that feels forced. "Where did you grow up? How many siblings...

    Strange arm/hand/foot positioning?

My ex( he's Aspie, I'm NT ) will often rest his left arm over his head: arm up, then bent over to the right. Although I also do something similar, just with less regularity.

    Any NeuroTypicals active on AspiesCentral???

I'm NT and have thought I should probably spend more time contributing to some of the posts here. As another responder mentioned, I did come here originally seeking to understand my Aspie guy (now ex) but have seen many posts where I thought I should contribute. I guess sometimes we need a...

    NT seeking advice part 2

I'm really only looking for generalities. I fully understand that aspergers isn't a one size fits all syndrome, I'm mostly reaching out here to get a better understanding of the intricacies and ranges. I'm fairly intelligent and can apply logic to any situation, I'm just not as adept in crossing...

    NT seeking advice part 2

After my last post, my Aspie and I made a bit of progress. He ended up blogging about his depression and delved a bit into how it effects him. I responded with an email letting him know that I'm there for him and explaining that his depression doesn't make me care any less about him. I also...

    NT needing advice

He doesn't snore or have apnea of any kind. He is depressive, though, so he is lethargic all day and can't sleep at night. So no, he isn't waking up refreshed, but it isn't due to apnea.

I didn't take it as rude, I was genuinely curious. But I understand what you mean.

    NT needing advice

He's got a great relationship with his therapist, she's aware he's autistic. I think he has done CBT in the past but his current focuses on EMDR for PTSD from some childhood traumas. I don't believe he would cheat, and I have had an inner conversation with myself the few times I ever felt...

    NT needing advice

I've been wondering if it's the holidays that have increased his withdrawal. I have asked him a few times about making plans for NYE, and I suspect this is a cause of some distress for him, even though I know he is aware this is a holiday couples typically spend together as we have discussed it...

I'm good with giving him space. I'm just concerned about when too much space is too much.

    NT needing advice

Having been through my own rounds of depression I try applying things that helped me. He gets overwhelmed with "adulting " so his apartment often looks like a war zone. I remember feeling so overwhelmed by household chores during my depression that I had no idea where to start. So I never did...

The gaming definitely cropped up with the depression and has increased as the depression has increased. Sudoku is an amazing suggestion. Thank you!
