    Similar, but not entirely equivalent, to the "teachable moment" concept.
    It's not personal. Sometimes you just shake internally, deep inside your head. The connection with the world is severed.
    Have you ever been told by a friend that you seem angry because you put a [dot] at the end of your sentences? The freaking what?

    Oh yeah, that one bothers me too. My family uses & expects exclamation marks at end of sentences. I don't get it either. Luckily I don't interact with them very often.

    Pity that English must so heavily rely on punctuation given it doesn't have all the options of emphatic particles which other languages may offer.
    Where a single word or two may well convey a state of mind.

    Oversensitive? Yeah, I’ve been told this before. So if you put an ‘x’ at the end, maybe it would look like you’re not being angry. This gets me paranoid too. Or short answered texts may come across as being p*ssed off. I hate texting in general.
