    I really like Goodwill .... well, mostly

    Area Goodwills are separate entities. They pay employees a fair wage in my area, and over 90% of profit goes back to the community. The reason they are separate is to focus on specific needs in the local community. In my area, the main focus is on disability services and housing.

    I agree it sounds more like depression. Everyone experiences that listlessness, but that sounds like you've experienced those feelings long term.

    I unconsciously echo the accents around me. When I moved from the southern U.S. to the Midwest, my accent changed fairly quickly.

    I have horrible handwriting. I've been told it's due to impatience in transferring thought to written word, and I can agree.

    I tend to be open about my ASD, but I don't advertise it. If I need to be left alone and well meaning people do the opposite, I try to explain to them later on because they do take it personally. It's hard for some people to understand that if I'm unresponsive, I'm not mad at them or ignoring...

    Even if we're more mildly affected by our autism, jobs seem to rely more and more nowadays upon social networking as much as qualifications. As usual, it comes down to who you know. I would guess that limits us even more than sensory issues.

    I agree that substitution works best, especially with anything that has been a ritual in your day. Perhaps a glass of tea or water instead?
