Rating intelligence by understanding and recognising jokes and not being literal

In my experience, they're probably either afraid that if they stand up to the bully, they'll be targeted too, or else they are trying to also assert their dominance over the person being targeted by siding with the bully. It's all about the peckingf order.

Rating intelligence by understanding and recognising jokes and not being literal

Sometimes it's because they aren't joking; they are trying to get away with being mean and push the blame onto you for feeling hurt. "Jokes" like this are sometimes bullying/abuse. I always had trouble with customers who made outrageous demands as jokes when I worked in customer service. I was...

Hi. Suspect I'm on the spectrum.

I found myself staring intently at the pattern printed on a cup at the store today and realized I do that a lot, so maybe I do notice patterns. Maybe I'll take the quiz again in a week or so, and see what other things I catch myself doing between then and now.

Hi. Suspect I'm on the spectrum.

Sorry, busy all day today. Parenting has been going pretty well, actually. I'm a stay-at-home mom at the moment, so that probably colors my experience a lot. The first little bit with a newborn was pretty exhausting. After getting over giving birth and getting in a routine, though, it was...

Hi. Suspect I'm on the spectrum.

Thank you! Haha, thanks. My sister-in-law does forums, so it's conceivable she'd join someday. The others... not so much. Thanks! I took it a couple times - once yesterday, once today (after I had a bad day and remembered things like yeah - I do hand flap, and my voice gets weird). Both said...

Hi. Suspect I'm on the spectrum.

I don't see the book anywhere. What book is it? The description, though, sounds like just what I'm looking for. Thanks!

Hi. Suspect I'm on the spectrum.

No insult taken. You are, of course, right, and it is all speculation at this point, though I am feeling pretty sure about me at this point. Concerns about kids, I expect, will be discussed at GP visits, and I'll need to do plenty of my own research.

Hi. Suspect I'm on the spectrum.

This is good advice. And, as I tend to over-research things, I have already begun this process :D I'll try to not jump to too many conclusions. Probably I'll read a lot on here too.

Hi. Suspect I'm on the spectrum.

Hi. I usually lurk a while before posting somewhere new, but I'm freaking out a bit and don't really have any real-life people to talk about this at the moment. I'd suspected I was autistic before, but a few days ago I ran across a list of symptoms related specifically to female Aspies and it...
