Any fellow Linux users on here?

I wish there were a LUG near me. I searched but never found one. I may have to start one myself. Meanwhile Arch Linux is what I know and there are instructions for installing it onto a lot of devices. It lags behind OpenBSD which will run on a toaster lol but it's still pretty versatile.

Any fellow Linux users on here?

Good points. I have access to a number of intel based apple units which I should try using. My old MacBook Pro is a quad core intel and my Mac Mini is a dual core intel. They should both make decent Linux systems. I will try that when I am not crazy busy getting ready to apply for disability...

Any fellow Linux users on here?

Tweaking and rooting sounds like a lot of fun. Please share some links for others to do some reading as well. You also make a very good point. Calling android a distro is attributing more to it than what is actually there. I have never used ChromeOS but the same probably applies.

Any fellow Linux users on here?

Linux does have a steep learning curve which for some is very difficult to navigate. The Linux community is helpful but getting help can be tricky. As an Aspie I have on occasion worded my request poorly and people have gotten mad at me. Fortunately for me, I have been using computers for so...

    Losing yet another friend?

@Markness you are asking a valid question. However, there is no one single answer. That is why the answer you seek is not as forthcoming as you would like. Please allow me to share something that I have learned. When you find yourself asking, "why does this keep happening to me?", rephrase the...

Any fellow Linux users on here?

Hi Gang, It's been 4 years since I last posted, and I wanted to stop in and say hi to everyone here at autism forums. I am still using Arch Linux because I can configure it to my liking. Also, I am still using Gnome Desktop because it's minimalist and gets out of my way when I don't need it...

Saying hello and First part assessment

Hello and welcome! You are justified in feeling anxious about your assessment. After all you have a lot riding on the outcome. The important thing is to remain calm. An assessment of this type is not a pass or fail proposition. Its about finding out what the facts are so that you can get...

    Sperm donation

I support the rule 100% because there is absolutely no justification for giving someone else's child autism. Make no mistake about one thing. Those of us on the spectrum who survive and even thrive do so because society takes care of us to some extent. Individuals with autism and especially...

    Hallo

I can relate to avoiding some of the music from the past. Sometimes it feels great and other times I have to hit the next button. That is probably a normal human behavior. One thing about Aspies is that we tend to feel some things with great intensity. Maybe that's why we make such powerful...

Do you have trouble making friends?

That sounds like the voice of experience. Are you a military brat? If so what was that like? I'm a vet but I never got to know any military brats during my enlistment. You describe Autism as an extreme state of being. Is that because you experience emotions to the extreme? I certainly do and...

    Hallo

I have been a Pink Floyd fan since about 13yo when someone gave me a vinyl of Dark Side of the Moon. I was fortunate enough to have seen them in concert twice. Sadly Roger Waters was not with them either time. I will say that both concerts were excellent even w/out Roger Waters. I also grew up...
