Are You Accepted By Your Family?

I think I'm accepted. But I also think much of my family tends to pretend a lot of me doesn't exist. At least, to my face.

Is it normal for people with autism not to care about many things or anyone?

I'm not sure I wholly agree with not-caring about anything/anyone for autism. I've found that I do care very much about many things- but they're very selective, and some would say unusual. I'd argue that what we care about is instead not of the mainstream- not what "normal" people would...

Anyone obsessed with Calvin and Hobbes?

Personally, as far as Sunday-Comics go, I was always partial to Dilbert for some reason. My mom really loved Calvin and Hobbes though, so I'd flip through those books every now and then.

How would you describe your own cultures sense of humour?

The problem with American comedy is that much of it's too "cliche" (I think someone here mentioned that, as well). Much of the reasoning is how standard American sitcoms are set up- they last too long or need to come up with episodes too quickly- almost all American shows-even the ones I love-...

    Specific Food Addiction

Re: pervasive specific food cravings I MUST eat a yogurt after dinner. It's my dessert. I suppose it's not a "problem", but it's become some sort of after-meal signature for me.

Is this a "me" thing, or an ASD thing?

I can't stand watching TV normally to be honest. Most people I've known who do this have no selectivity to what they're watching and are just zoning out to anything simple. That, or just having it around and on for background noise. I like some shows, but it's better for me to just watch them...

What was the last movie you watched?

Re: What's the last film you watched? Just realized I have no idea what's out in theatres anymore. I haven't been in ages....I'm so behind in the world of movies, always.

    No obsessions or interests

I feel like having an obsession of some sort is part of being an aspie, to be honest. But there could be a lot of reasons for not having one- you got bored of your old obsessions and just haven't struck a new one... are under stress/depression, that sort of thing. When I'm anxious about...
