Don't know how to deal with bad situation in life.

I am so sorry all this is happening with you. Maybe you could write about your experiences. Most people probably don't know what it's like to live with a war going on in their country. Writing takes a lot of effort to make the book publishable. You write, you proofread, edit, write some more...

Is it weird that I never want to see a therapist, counselor or physiatrist because I don't want them telling me how to feel?

I suspect many of us feel that way. I wouldn't know what to say to a therapist. There would be a lot of yesses, nos, and I don't knows.

How to deal with losing a special interest that others don`t want you to let go?

TLDR: No. No one in my immediate family/friends collection has ever been interested in my interests. My parents supported my science and electronics interest, but even socially oblivious little me knew they weren't interested directly. The other aspect is that once an interest snags me, it...

Realizing you're autistic, how'd you react?

Initially, I was pretty sure the diagnosis was wrong, so I researched the daylights out of autism, and found myself reading my own "operator's manual". I'm all about learning, so this was gihugeic (sp? Gi huge ic).

    Valentine Day plans?

I didn't mind getting few Valentines (i would have been good with zero) , but I was shamed into getting one for everyone in my class, even though I found the whole concept to be uber-awkward. I was not interested in being romantic with classmates (especially ALL of them), and the cards...

The Post a Photo of Yourself Thread

Actually ASV, which is basically a bipap on steroids. It follows my breathing rythm and boosts its pressure to jump start my breathing when my body forgets to. I'm functioning.

Why many autistic people focus on that?

I had no inkling of knowledge as to why I was as weird as I was. While I began caring less about what people thought about me the older I got, I still tried to not show my weirdness so much. When I found that my oddities were autistic traits, I finally had a reason. While autism isn't some...
