    All Cats Have Asperger Syndrome

And dog's have adhd (apparently) I do like cat's but allergies prevent ownership, therefore I will deal with my dog's hyperactivity and inability to concentrate.

    Routines/details/changes

Routines seem to give Aspies structure and enjoyment, not the same as OCD which causes intense agitation in the sufferer. I have adhd on a background of Aspergers (diagnosed) and I loathe routines and too much structure, but I wish it were otherwise!! it does not seem to help my impulsivity and...

    Which Asperger type are you?

This covers just about every PD that's recognised! There are various psychiatrists in Europe who think Aspergers should be classed as a Cluster A PD removed from Autism, while in the UK they want to lump us on the ASD and abandon Aspergers. Is this called Schizophrenia?

Have you ever walked out of a movie theatre?

I would leave a film premier if someone ate popcorn or talked during the screening. I find any theatre really difficult as I can't control my environment. Independence Day was sh#t though.......

    New from UK

I would like to thank everyone for their warm welcome! Sorry I have not answered all individually. I have just started a course of SSRI's for a co-morbid of OCD, so not feeling great by any means. Look forward to talking with you all in the future.

People's lack of support since diagnosis

When I told a friend I had been diagnosed with aspergers he said he was sorry! I told him that it wasn't terminal cancer and more a way of 'being' in the world. You don't need compassion, but you do need understanding from the people nearest to you. Go easy on them it's a learning curve for them...

Hello I am a 53 year old man recently diagnosed with Aspergers with some level of OCD. As I grew up in 70s London there was little chance of a diagnosis and I was viewed as a lazy and unsocial. However, I cultivated a rich fantasy life based around my interests and over the years have learned to...
