Did you already get the vaccine? What did you feel?

The second dose was the worst. I felt very uncomfortable for about 2 days 24 hours after getting the shot. It felt like the day after a long hike where you get dehydrated. I took aspirin that first night to make myself a bit more comfortable. Still happy to be vaccinated.

    Struggling with change at work

I certainly understand your frustration. However, you can't fight the system. Personally, I would adapt to their system and try to make it as efficient as you can. I would also start looking for other opportunities. Whether you adapt to this job or not, it is good to look for better places.

    Feeling Lost Between Obsessions...?

I have an obsession I can apply to my other obsessions: photography. I have been doing that since 10 (I am 57 and was diagnosed with ASD last year). Writing is another--my wife has kept a diary since her childhood. Both her writing and my photographs are really a document of our lives. It also...

How to develop self discipline when on the spectrum?

Use your behavior in a positive way. Find positive activities and such to become addicted to. Also, find substitutes for when you start reengaging in those negative behaviors.

Petition to make religion a blockable topic on your threads list.

I find scrolling past the post does it for me. You can also ignore them. However, it would also be nice for those posting to understand the thread topic and moderate their input. As an Aspie I have had enough of "I don't care what you think" to be a little more generous with others here. I...

    Building a website, advice

I would look for a service provider (the hosting service) that has the forum software as part of the hosting fee. I have a blog and my service provider gives me my domain name and blogging software for free as long as I use their service. It was easy to setup a blog. I use Wordpress, but there...

    My "ASD in school" research

I am not sure what these data mean. How do they deviate from a control group? I don't think your population is statistically significant (big enough) and it is a self selecting group (people in this forum), so I don't think any conclusions can be drawn.

    The Invention of Lying

Lying can increase social cohesion. Simon Baron Cohen states that the development of empathy in humans about 70,000 years ago gave us the ability of empathy, which includes manipulating and deceiving others for personally and social gain. About the same time, humans developed how to systematize...

The symptoms I'm experiencing, do you see these symptoms in yourselves?

We really cannot diagnose from that. It could be many things. However, you can try testing and see what the results are. You can always ask for a second opinion. As far as being forced off you interests, for someone with ASD that is not always positive. The special interest can be good for...

    frustration and "special interests"?

I think there is a difference between fun and rewarding. Things I do take a lot of effort and I am not having "fun," in the smiley, selfie, instagram kind of way. However, my interests are very rewarding, in that I get a great deal out of them. The reward is the "pleasure."

    Autistic Daughter and Online Boyfriends

I will echo other voices here. You need to help your daughter learn to develop relationships. This is a long-term imperative. If you can help your daughter into a good relationship, that can support passed the time you are not her to help her.

Congrats. Wishing you the best. (I might also suggest direct deposit for your paycheck and leave your credit and debit cards at home when you go to work. ;) )
