Any fellow Linux users on here?

I've been using linux for quite a while (when I have a computer). Started with Ubuntu. Switched to mint some time ago. Recently did a bunch of distrohopping and started using void. Have it running on two machines now. Started from a base install. Trying to learn more about computers. I felt like...

    Planned Obsolescence is Getting Annoying

I think of it as something like "forced obsolescence", or maybe prematurely enforced obsolescence (I do get the idea and expressed sentiment of the op, though). There is a reasonable rate of technological progression which does make things become outdated, eventually, but the way many (or most)...

Google is Trying to Get Rid of Hangouts, But Why Tho?

I hope they don't get rid of google voice anytime soon, or at least give some warning of it if they intend to.

    Disability Benefits

Apparently they deny everyone at least once.

    Disability Benefits

I'm in the US, in California. I get SSI. I think that SSDI is the one you have to pay into, so you may look in to SSI instead. It took me about a year and a half, which is apparently fast. Denied once before I was approved. The place that did my assessment was able to work on my behalf to help...

    What made you happy today?

I had at least ten crows following me at one point today. There are a few of them that mostly stay on the other side of the highway from me and follow me when I'm in town that fly past me from behind really close to my head, not sure if it is an effort to be noticed, intended to impress me, or...

Does the plate it might be served on have to be warm?

Fabric Sensitivities and Finding Fine Silks

Check thrift shops. That's pretty much the only place I buy anything, and basically the only place I can afford to buy anything. I've gotten quite a bit of nice silk from thrift shops. I really don't know where to look to find it new, though. Linen mixed with anything else just doesn't breathe...

    Good News/Bad News

The bad news is: they've decided to take up residence on your front lawn while they undertake a nonstop atonal expressionist improv excursion until they collectively reach instrumental enlightenment. The good news is: you have many trained monkeys.

    Symptom of the day

It's really frustrating sometimes. I think that I didn't say anything inappropriate either time, at least. I just couldn't really respond to one person and couldn't shut up with the other one (but didn't really have anything to say). I hope you managed to get the message across to the tradesman.

    Symptom of the day

Difficulty with spontaneous speech. I really wish it wasn't so hard for me most of the time. Today I was talking to someone I know who works at the grocery store and just couldn't come up with a response to what he was saying while I was actually talking to him, but came up with the beginning of...

    What made you happy today?

I think that a few of the crows that live in or around a parking lot near my apartment might recognize me now. I've seen them flying up to wait for me by a path I use for the last few days.
