But you have to play to win...
Riding The Splinter Road ... Board track racing was popular in the early days of motorcycling. Close to my home in sw penna usa,there were wooden tracks built like bowls they raced on. The machinery was basically just a bicycle with an engine rigged on it. They wore little protection gear and had no brakes. They travelled at speeds nearing the 100 miles per hour mark. A huge crash sent many riders to their death one day and the sport was then outlawed.
 
It had to have taken some serious stones to ride on of those. They have a nice board-track display at the Barber Motorsports Museum in Birmingham that I've always found fascinating.
