Well, that was well before my time, but I have bought gas for 25 cents a gallon when I was in high school.

@clg114 I remember my dad buying premium fuel at a Sinclair station for $.24.9 in 1964.
He had a '63 Corvair Spyder with a turbocharger on it and his MO was to tell the pump jockey that he wanted $2 each time he took on fuel.
