I'm struggling now to think somehow,
Of a topic on which I can rant.
And I need a new metre, before my rhymes peter
Out 'cos my talent is scant.
I'll try something new,
And maybe it works,
Or maybe it's bound for disaster.
A turn of the screw,
Plus a couple of quirks,
Or hit rock bottom much faster.
How about this?
Is it taking the piss?
I must be remiss,
Hitting the abyss.
I'll maybe strive harder,
And change the rhyme,
Describe my ardour,
While doing some time.
This ain't panning out at all.
I'm just adding more to this scrawl.
I'm thinking it's come to a crawl,
Imagine! What terrible gall.
To think I could ever enthrall,
Pumping out words so banal.
Ok a big reset is due.
Let's see what I can do.
I'll manage just fine,
If I toe the line,
Cos' a limerick... that I can do!
