Coincidental & Ironic Names In The News...

Back in the 90s in Australia two of our politicians had a very public political row that the general public found to be completely ridiculous. It didn't help that their names were Abbott and Costello.

I'm convinced some parents do this deliberately. As kids my sister had 3 Theresas in her class - Theresa Brown, Theresa Green and Theresa Wood.

When our babies' births were being announced in our local paper, there was always somebody who named their daughter Amanda Lynn.
 
My dad knew someone whose last name was Phillips-Head. That always made me laugh.

I went to school with someone whose last name was Condon. It got misspelled a lot.
 
As teenagers, and as a prank, we'd telephone the local pub and spin a story about an emergency at home and how a patron should return home immediately.
A gang of us would be listening down the receiver as the bar maid called out to the whole pub in a northern accent (dropped H)
"Is Mike 'Unt in tonight? Has anyone seen Mike 'Unt?"

We were bored.
And horrible.
