Hyper-wired: Musings of a Christian on the Autism Spectrum

Hyper-wired: Musings of a Christian on the Autism Spectrum 2015-05-04

I've done a lot of research into Autism and Aspergers over the past several years. I've started an educational blog on Facebook to gather this information together along with some of my own observations from a Christian perspective. If you are on Facebook, please like my page and feel free to comment on the articles I post. If this goes well, I may start something on Wordpress or Blogger. Thanks!

Hyper-wired: Musings of a Christian on the Autism Spectrum | Facebook

This blog addresses the interrelationships and overlap between Autism/Aspergers, Intellectual Giftedness, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Mixed Laterality from the viewpoint of a Christian on the spectrum. The concept is built upon the Intense World Theory of autism proposed by neuroscientists Kamila and Henry Markram as well as my own personal experience, observations, and research.

The mission of this page is to expand the reader's understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders within a larger three-dimensional continuum that also encompasses the facets of high intelligence, sensory sensitivity, and left/mixed handedness. The primary audience for this site are individuals with Asperger's Syndrome/High-Functioning Autism (AS/HFA) and those who care about them. Others elsewhere on the autism spectrum will also find the content helpful.

As a Christian, I believe we are each fearfully and wonderfully made. It is my hope that through the sharing of knowledge and understanding, each of us will find greater peace, joy, fulfillment and purpose.
