Blackpill definition - Suggests the idea that women choose partners solely based on physical attributes. Those who are not attractive are doomed to permanent romantic and social isolation.

Therapy could be useful for people espousing these ideas.

Why? It's a social phenomenon that lots of younger men are lonely and have never had a romantic connection.

Being a "social phenomenon" doesn't make it desirable or necessary.

I agree that society is failing young men, one only has to look at the data. Attempts to paint them as a terrorist problem are also unhelpful and propogandic.
While I agree that physical traits are very important, I don't think it's the only factor.

I'll be honest, this "blackpill" idea sounds like something that someone on Reddit came up with so that they could blame things outside of themselves for their issues rather than facing the challenge (and effort) of making changes and doing new things. Exactly the sort of thing that would become a self-fulfilling prophecy for those that fall into it.

Whatever fad black pill is, it's a reaction to men being ignored when falling behind economially, in education, in mental health and in social relationships. Society doesn't care about men's problems, except in a finger wagging, "pull yourself together" way.

They even see it as a zero sum game, as if caring about men's issues will harm women's issues. Really it's everyone's problem as societal health depends more on men's success and stability than they like to admit.

thejuice is right. Ask a feminist or any other similar figure what they’ve done to assist or help the average man now they’ve fallen behind. What response do you think would you get? So is it certainly about equality?

Neuroatypicality is definitely a factor too, but if you’re good looking enough, it won’t matter.

Reading up a bit more on this, and observing behaviors and things said by those who are into it, and... ye gods, this is one of the most horribly toxic concepts I've seen online in a LONG time. Good grief. I hope, for your sake, that you eventually manage to break away from... that. As for myself... I think that's enough internet for today. I feel like I need a shower now. Or an exorcism.

@Zain typical response would be an attempt to undermine your confidence, socially isolate you, whilst claiming to be 'concerned'.

@Misery Please be more specific on what you're talking about.
And I don't believe you should be so afraid of new, fresh ideas. This is what freedom of speech and expression is about.

Being depressed, bitter, and suicidal isn't a new, fresh idea.
It's non-rational.

Those are states of being.
