When I was little and Mum was teaching me to cook one of the very first recipes I learned was Rock Buns, these look very similar.

Oddly enough, the first thing I ever learned to bake was rock cakes! They are quite similar, but with a lot more citrus and sweet spicy taste to them :) But if you imagine a large rock cake, that's about 50-60% of the way to what they are like to eat, well assuming I got them right :)

Awesome! Funnily enough, a client sent me a box of the Betty's Christmas version of those fat rascals (advent cakes). They also sent Betty's mince pies and Betty's cinnamon and ginger shortbread. I'm spoiled. :)
